Nun RAPE case: Bangladeshi man gets imprisonment till death.

A Kolkata court today sentenced a Bangladeshi man to imprisonment till death for RAPING a septuagenarian nun during a dacoity at a convent in West Bengal’s Ranaghat town two years back, an incident that shocked the conscience of the nation.Additional Sessions Judge Kumkum Sinha had yesterday convicted all the six accused — Nazrul Islam, Milan Kumar Sarkar, Ohidul Islam, Mohd Selim Sheikh, Khaledar Rahman and Gopal Sarkar on different charges over the RAPE  of the nun and dacoity at the Jesus and Mary Convent in Ranaghat town of Nadia district bordering Bangladesh on March 14, 2015.Though the prosecution had accused all the six men of GANG RAPE  the charge was not established and only Nazrul was convicted of RAPE.While convicting the six men, the court had yesterday termed the incident as a matter of shame .They had ransacked the prayer hall and other places in the convent for more than three hours on the night of March 14, 2015 and decamped with cash from the safe of the convent.The trial was shifted from a court in Ranaghat to the Kolkata sessions court in May 2016 by the Calcutta High Court on a petition by the nun.The nun, who had relocated to Delhi following the incident, had sought transfer of the case to Kolkata stating that she feared for her safety as the accused allegedly had strong links in Ranaghat.

The  state where Sister Nivedita and Mother Teresa had worked for the people, the place where Mother Teresa spread the message of care and sacrifice. It is a shame that this hateful incident took place there that too with a nun. The verdict came after more than two years. Should we have fast track courts to decide the cases of crime against WOMEN?

Teacher in Sambhal arrested for SEXUALLY MOLESTING student in school.

UTTAR-PRADESH, A case of SEXUAL MOLESTATION of an 11- year old by a primary school teacher in Sambhal has emerged.The incident took place in Thana Rajpura area of Sambhal district. It is alleged that the student of class 4 was called by the accused teacher Kailash Chandra, in the pretext of feeding sweets in his office. He then began touching her inappropriately. The little GIRL started yelling because of which the teacher had to let go of her.The GIRL went home and narrated the entire incident to her parents.
