Army colonel arrested in shimla for allegedly RAPING his junior’s Daughter

If you thought this was just a film and that one's father's friends are like family-we often even call them chachus or taujis or, uncles.This will make you re-think the situation.A 21-year-old girl was RAPED by her father's friend. He had promised to help with her modelling career by putting her in touch with his own daughter, who is a model based in Mumbai. The accused, P.S Grewal, is a colonel in the Indian army and the victim's father is his junior in the army.This is how the sequence of events unfolded:The accused invited her and her father for a programme at Shimla's Gaiety theatre, after which he took them out for dinner. During dinner, she told the Colonel she wanted to be a model. The Colonel said his daughter was in Mumbai, and that she could help her build a modelling career. He then asked her to send him photos of her on WhatsApp.The Colonel asked the victim to come home so that he could introduce her to people associated with the modelling industry. She had been told that a maid and his aunt was present at home, which reassured her."Colonel uncle pushed me inside a room and after bolting the door. He offered me a drink and snacks. Suddenly his accomplice came out of the washroom and held me. Meanwhile, Colonel Grewal removed my clothes and forcibly RAPED me. I gained consciousness around 5:30 and then rushed back to my home. Colonel uncle also rushed back with my bag and threatened me to spoil my dad's career in case I revealed the incident to anyone," reported the GIRL in the F.I.R.The Colonel threatened to destroy her father's career if she told anyone about the incident.Based on the victim's complaint, police registered a case under IPC section 376 (rape) against both the Colonel and his friend.

The most heartbreaking part about the situation is that the victim referred to the person who RAPED her as uncle. It's a term of address we use for our father's friends and shows the trust she placed on him.Is this the punishment she got for trusting him?Can anyone expect this kind of disgraceful act from a highly esteemed person on the rank of a Colonel who RAPED a GIRL of less than her daughter's age?

Her family came to attend a wedding in February before the lockdown. That’s where this incident happen. The guy came and took her from her mother’s lap in order to play with her.  2 hours later when they decided to go hone, They started looking for her and the cousin but both were no where to be found.
