Jaunsar RAPE victim ends life, second case within week in Uttarakhand

Unable to deal with trauma, a 20-year-old rape victim committed suicide in Jaunsar area of Dehradun district, making it the second such tragedy within a week in Uttarakhand.On  Friday, the woman was rushed to a hospital in Vikasnagar, around 40 km from Dehradun, after she gulped down a poisonous liquid. Doctors declared her brought dead. The woman hailed from a village falling under Kalsi tehsil, about 80 km from Dehradun.“The victim’s family members were not at home when the assault took place (on Thursday night). Finding the girl alone at home, the accused locked the door and raped the girl. By the time the family rushed back home on hearing her scream, the man fled from the scene,” Shakti Prasad Uniyal, tehsildar of Kalsi, told Hindustan Times.
Prior to the Jaunsar tragedy, a 17 -year- old had ended her life as she was  raped by a distant relative who had arrived for the Bhai Dooj rituals at Laksar area on October 21. The man, identified as Arun from Khanpur, was arrested following which his family allegedly insulted the victim and her family and pressured them to withdraw the case. Traumatised by the turn of events, she hanged herself at her home a day later.Crime against women in Uttarakhand went up from 1,942 cases in 2014 to 2,042 in 2016. In 2014, 245 cases of rape were reported in the state, followed by 273 in 2015 and 333 last year.
These incidents show the failure of police and judiciary  which forces the rape victims to take this extreme step as they have lost faith in their protectors.What a pathetic state of affairs?

Teacher in Sambhal arrested for SEXUALLY MOLESTING student in school.

UTTAR-PRADESH, A case of SEXUAL MOLESTATION of an 11- year old by a primary school teacher in Sambhal has emerged.The incident took place in Thana Rajpura area of Sambhal district. It is alleged that the student of class 4 was called by the accused teacher Kailash Chandra, in the pretext of feeding sweets in his office. He then began touching her inappropriately. The little GIRL started yelling because of which the teacher had to let go of her.The GIRL went home and narrated the entire incident to her parents.
