Three booked for Beating Woman, five Daughters

The district police have booked three persons under the Juvenile Justice Act and on the charge of beating a woman and her five daughters.
Pooja, in her complaint to the police on Monday, stated that she was married to Anil Kumar, a resident of Prithvi Nagar in Yamunanagar, in 2005.
She alleged that her husband and her in-laws started harassing her for dowry soon after her marriage.
She has five daughters but her husband and her in-laws wanted a son from her. The complainant alleged that she failed to fulfil their wish of a son, therefore, they tried to kill her and her daughters several times by trying to set them on fire and administrating them poisonous substances.
According to information, when the matter came to the notice of District Child Protection Officer Dr Richa and legal officer Ranjan Sharma, they met the woman and got an FIR registered.
Rakesh Kumar, SHO, Farakpur police station, said a case had been registered against Pooja’s husband, her mother-in-law and bother-in-law under various Sections of the IPC.
Ranjan Sharma said the police had been asked to provide security to her.
